I’ve lived all over the world but something keeps bringing me back to Edinburgh. I love the lifestyle and the people. It’s just the right size for a city. Big enough to have plenty to do and small enough to not feel overwhelmed.

Why Clan Gordon?

Doing the right thing is at the heart of what we do, both for tenants and for landlords. When we started the business it was very common for tenants to be expected to have second-hand furniture, a landlord’s old sofa when it was a bit worn out and they fancied a new one. We felt this was wrong and have focused on getting good flats in good condition in the right area for all the great tenants out there. We have the very best staff who care about delivering this too and they are now the primary reason landlords choose and trust us with their investment.

What do you love about Edinburgh?

Although it’s a busy capital city full of commerce, historic sites and great nightlife its always struck me that you can get on a bus or into your car and 15 minutes later you’re in the shadow of the Pentland Hills with its fantastic walks and mountain bike paths. A great walkable city that offers a huge variety of attractions. I’ve lived here for nearly 50 years and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else (well, maybe Bourdeaux).

What do you love about Edinburgh?

Edinburgh for me is exciting in that it has a lot of variety; you’ve got Portobello, Leith, Stockbridge, Old Town and New Town to name just a handful of my favourite places! It also has that great mix between rural and urban with parks such as Inverleith and the Meadows dotted around the city! As a dog lover and having only recently got my first pup Freya the French Bulldog, I feel spoilt for choice in terms of where to go for walks whether it be through the beautiful city centre or the gorgeous Pentlands on the fringes of Edinburgh! What do you love about Edinburgh?- I love the whole atmosphere of Edinburgh, that feeling of being home and back into the hustle and bustle of it all when I've been away. There is so much history enveloping you and the architecture and scenery is gorgeous.
